Our Pro Series scissor lifts replaced the HB series scissor lifts. The new generation lifts have been brought up to ANSI A92.20 standards. Along with the new standards come more changes to Lift weight, capacity, safety features, ect.
While standard 19 ft scissor lifts may be the go-to equipment for indoor multistory construction, there's other equipment that's better suited for indoor applications. Meet the Hy-Brid Lifts PS-1430 and PS-1930. This light and mighty scissor lift has many benefits over standard 19 ft lifts, such as lower floor load pressures, lighter weight, a lower step-in height, and a more compact design. Keep reading to discover the differences between a standard 19 ft slab scissor and the PS-1430/ PS-1930.
The average weight of a 19 ft scissor lift is roughly 3,300 lbs. This wouldn't be a problem if you're working at ground level, but what about multistory construction where there are added regulations for floor load pressures? The heavy weight of standard 19 ft lifts limits the number of units operators can run per floor.
The HB-1430 weighs about 1,700 lbs. That's 1,600 lbs. lighter than 19 ft scissor lifts. Hy-Brid Lifts also have the lowest floor load pressures in the scissor lift industry, meaning you can have more lifts per floor and access green concrete a lot sooner than you could with 19 ft lifts.
The PS-1430 weighs 1,780 lbs. which is still 1,520 lbs. lighter than most 19 ft scissor lifts. With the Pro Series the slight weight increase is due to new features such as, load sensing, LeakGuard hydraulic fluid containment, and other improvements made for the quality of our machines.
The standard 19 ft scissor lift has a platform capacity of 500 lbs. If you need to elevate two operators over 200 lbs, there's a good chance they won't be able to take up all the tools and materials they need to complete the job. Going over a lift's platform capacity is dangerous for both workers in the air and crew on the ground below.
The HB-1430 has a platform capacity of 670 lbs, which is more than enough to safely elevate two workers plus tools and materials for the job at hand. This additional platform capacity increases productivity by allowing operators to take more materials up in one trip.
The ANSI A92.20 compliant PS-1430 has a platform capacity of 700 lbs. which is enough to safely elevate two workers with their tools and materials. With Live Load Sensing you will be able to tell how close you are to being over your weight capacity.
Traditional 19 ft scissor lifts aren't designed for efficiency, safety, and operators' well-being. These lifts have high step-in heights, forcing workers to climb two steps to access the platform and making it harder to load heavy items like drywall. The high step-in height also increases the chances of injury while exiting the platform.
The Hy-Brid Lifts HB-1430 has a step-in height of 25.3 in, making it easier and safer to load, enter, and exit the platform. In addition to a lower step-in height, the HB-1430 has a full swing gate, providing an easier and less awkward way to enter the platform as opposed to chains or fixed bars.
The PS-1430 also has a step-in height of 28 in. along with a heavy-duty step. The Pro Series models also feature a full swing cantilever gate to make it easier to get in as opposed to chains or fixed bars.
We took a good look at our HB series 2 scissor lifts, talked to our customers and other trade professionals, then tasked our engineers with bringing Hy-Brid lifts to ASNI A92.20 standards while incorporating the feedback we received. If you haven't seen the new models yet, this is what we did.
